The Proposal

Voters will be asked to approve a millage of up to .3124 mills for five years beginning in 2021 to support Metro’s public transportation system in Kalamazoo County, including Metro Connect and Metro Share.

Why it’s needed

Metro Connect, also known as “dial-a-ride”, provides on demand transportation to Kalamazoo County residents, many of whom have no other means for transportation. Thirty-six percent of Metro’s budget comes from community support via millages. Throughout the pandemic, the service has been invaluable to help get riders to important medical appointments and to secure necessary items.

The election will be held on Tuesday, November 2, 2021 throughout all of Kalamazoo County.
